A respected ophthalmic surgeon with a strong social conscious, Leo dedicates much of his time consulting and operating within the public system to minimise waiting times for people. He has also been chairperson of the Save Sight Society of New Zealand between 2019 and 2023, and now serves as a director. Presently, he is establishing a scholarship programme in his name to support the education pathways for the brightest minds who have chosen this specialty.
